At 10:20 a.m., the driver was waiting at a stop sign on Adamsville Road to merge onto eastbound Route 22, Bridgewater police said. After entering the highway in the right lane, the driver changed lanes three times, aiming to access the Bridgewater Diner parking lot through an "exit only" driveway, police said.

While attempting the maneuver, the car positioned itself at a 45-degree angle across the left and center lanes of the highway and was struck by another vehicle, identified as  traveling east in the left lane, police said.

The impact caused the car to rotate 180 degrees before coming to a stop on the highway's left shoulder. Meanwhile, the other vehicle veered off the roadway, struck and sheared a utility pole in half, then flipped end-over-end, police said. The flipping car landed on its roof, crashing into three parked vehicles in the diner’s parking lot, police said.

No injuries were reported and the crash remains under investigation, police said.
